Track Your First Meal
Method 1: AI Photo Recognition
Requires internet- 1
Open the app → Tap "Add Food" button

Take a photo of your meal
- • Use good lighting (natural light best)
- • Photograph the entire portion
- • Avoid shadows and glare

AI analyzes your photo automatically
- • Identifies food items
- • Estimates portion sizes
- • Calculates nutrition

Review the results
- • Check AI confidence scores
- • Adjust portions if needed
- • Edit any misidentified items

Add tags (optional)
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack

Privacy Note: When you use AI photo recognition, your photo is sent to Google Gemini for analysis and immediately discarded. Only the nutritional data is returned and saved locally on your device.
Method 2: Custom Entry
For homemade recipes or custom foods:
- 1Open the app → Tap "Add Food"
- 2Select "Add Custom Food"
- 3Enter details: Food name, serving size, calories, protein, carbs, fat
- 4Save → Reuse anytime!
Tips for Accurate Tracking
DO
- Use natural lighting (outdoors or near window)
- Photograph entire portion (full plate view)
- Include reference objects (fork, hand)
- Take photos at slight angle (30-45°)
- Log immediately after meals
DON'T
- Use flash (causes glare)
- Photograph in dim lighting
- Crop out parts of the meal
- Mix multiple meals in one photo
- Wait until end of day to log
Troubleshooting
AI Not Recognizing Food
Problem: AI says "Unable to identify food"
Solutions:
- 1. Retake photo with better lighting
- 2. Get closer to the food
- 3. Remove distractions (cluttered background)
- 4. Try photographing individual items
- 5. Use custom entry as backup
